Overview
A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) provides a complete view of an investor’s mutual fund holdings across different AMCs. Importing CAS into Investwell Mint helps brokers keep their clients’ investment records updated without manual data entry, reducing errors and saving time.
Brokers can import external funds of their clients using two methods in Investwell Mint:
CAS Import via OTP – Sync transactions directly using MF Central’s CAS API with OTP authentication.
Uploading CAS File from CAMS – Manually upload the investor’s CAS file for import.
Both methods can be accessed from the same section in Investwell Mint:
Data Management > CAS Import.
Method 1: CAS Import via OTP
For Existing Clients
Choose the 'Sync Transactions with OTP' option on the left.
Select a client from the dropdown.
Enter their registered mobile number or email.
Enter the OTP sent by MF Central.
Click Submit – Funds will be imported.
If mapping is required, complete the mapping as described later in this article.
For New Clients
Choose the 'Sync Transactions with OTP' option on the left.
Enter the client’s PAN.
Enter their mobile number or email.
Enter the OTP sent by MF Central.
Click Submit – A new client is created automatically, and their funds are imported.
If mapping is required, complete the mapping as described later in this article.
Note: If an existing client’s PAN is entered as a new client, their funds will still be imported normally and mapped to the existing client.
Method 2: Uploading CAS File from CAMS
Before uploading the CAS file, brokers must first download it from the CAMS website. If they already have the CAS file, they can upload it manually.
How to Download the CAS File from CAMS:
Go to the CAMS website.
Select Detailed CAS.
Choose Statement Type: Detailed.
Select the period, ideally from the client’s first investment date.
Enter the investor’s registered email address.
Set a PDF password for security (required during upload).
The investor will receive the CAS file via email, which must be forwarded to the broker.
How to Upload the CAS File in Investwell Mint:
Choose the option on the right in the CAS Import screen.
Select the client and enter the PDF password you set while downloading the file from CAMS.
Upload the CAS File.
After uploading, the import will be completed. If mapping is required, complete the mapping as described in the next section.
Mapping & Validation (Common for Both Methods)
Mapping is needed when certain details in the imported CAS data don’t match existing records. This can happen if an ARN, scheme name, or transaction type isn’t recognized, or if a client’s PAN isn’t found. Manual mapping ensures accurate record-keeping.
If ARN selection is required, select the appropriate ARN.
If schemes are not mapped automatically, manually map them using the dropdown beside each scheme.
If the client is new and their PAN is not found, create a new client.
If a transaction type is missing, select it manually.
Once the process is complete, you can check the status of your import in the CAS Import History section, located below the CAS Import section.
Import Status Indicators
Success: The import was successful.
Pending for Mapping: Mapping is pending for ARN/Schemes/Transaction type. Click on the three-dot icon beside it to resume mapping where you left off.
Deleted: If a CAS file was imported by mistake, click on the three-dot icon to delete all the imported data.
Once the CAS import is complete, the transactions will be reflected in the system. You can now review the updated portfolio and analyze the investment data.
